Canada's Kelsey Serwa claimed gold within the women's ski cross at the Olympiad in Pyeongchang.
Serwa, 28, force away within the last half of the race to end sooner than national French region Phelan and Switzerland's Fanny Smith.
Competing at her initial Winter Games, nice Britain's Emily Sarsfield, 34, was knocked go into the quarter-finals.
Canadian defensive champion Marielle Thompson crashed go into the day's initial heat.

"It is incredibly surreal to be the simplest within the world at one thing you set your heart into," Serwa aforesaid.
"I had an inspiration and dead it, and was therefore pink-slipped up."
Canada have won the event all thrice it's featured at the athletic contest.
Sarsfield has not received any United Kingdom Sport funding and has been self-coached for virtually the past six months of her twelve years on the ski circuit.
"I have funded it by fixing a ski college. I actually have worked multiple jobs through the summer," she said.
"It's a distinct route to my peers however it simply makes American state that small bit additional hungry.
"Luckily British Ski and Snowboard used a lecturer six months agone and he's with American state here these days, except for eleven and a [*fr1] years i used to be essentially learning this sport by repeating what folks were doing on videos and giving it an attempt myself."
